Since I paint for personal expression I find my work varies from from painting to painting. I love vibrant colours, unusual subjects and backgrounds and don’t mind if they don’t present perfection – that is not my goal.
This 2013/14 winter has been long and demanding for me, and so many of my newer paintings I hope reflect and express warmth, natural beauty, a little whimsy, and some of the unusual. We have enough reality facing us every day.
I have been lucky to expand my pet portrait venture and added lighthouses to my ocean scenes. I also try to paint a variety of subjects, not one of them ever the same – and always trying to add that little novelty that stands out.
I am more than willing to try new subject matter, dabbled a bit in people, but shy away from buildings and unnatural subjects. Wood, slate and canvas are my main palates and acrylic paint my medium.
A resident of Fenelon Falls, rich in crafts, artists and small town friendliness – I am looking forward to being involved with the Fenelon Station Gallery and all the wonderful people who contribute.
