Bill Dopson – A.K.A. Woodworker Willie

Bill has been doing Intarsia for about 25 years, and it remains his main form of art work.

In the past few years he has started doing fret work, and 3-D compound cut ornaments.  He enjoys doing these forms of art, and it gives him a break from doing the intarsia, which is very demanding wood cutting, and leaves very little room for error.

The fret work, and ornaments also require precise cutting, but leave a slightly larger margin for error. Here are some pictures of some fret work and ornaments.

Also a couple of pictures of his intarsia.

More of Bill’s Artistry In Wood can be seen on his web site at www.woodworkerwillie.com

Bill will be in the gallery next on July 2nd.
