Dagmar Pinney
Painter
After discovering a talent for capturing natures beauty on canvas and while living in the Dufferin Highlands, Dagmar Pinney had the pleasure to work privately with some local artists. She developed a style of her own and started painting seriously about 20 years ago.
Since that time she has had the opportunity to study under several other artists and continues to develop.
In late 2018 the City of Kawartha Lakes selected one of Dagmar’s paintings as a gift to Neil Young, acknowledging his contribution to the arts and music.
Throughout 2019 Dagmar created and produced the Hidden Doors project at Victoria Manor where she painted many doors within the memory care unit to help prevent patients from wandering.
Dagmar retired as a special needs educator. She now enjoys working with children helping them open a window into their imagination and to develop their creativity within. Dagmar uses simple step by step instructions which allows the child to understand and then create something they can be proud of.
Dagmar offers group and private art instruction to children and adults. Working with watercolours and acrylics on different media has brought out a passion that she didn’t know she had and continues to develop with each painting.
