I worked in Advertising for seven years. I was then an art teacher and Department Head for 30 years. I wrote a Course of Study for the Art Department emphasizing learning through dealing with practical problems and studio projects.
In my painting, I strive to include the basics of Design and Composition in my paintings. I find that many paintings I see are in perfect clarity from foreground to background. It is impossible for a painting to be in total clarity from foreground to background. Consequently, I try to include atmosphere in my paintings; creating curiosity.
I include all the seasons in my landscapes, combined with a bit of abstraction to avoid the triteness of a pretty picture. I also prefer to leave a painting unfinished. I then go back after looking at it for several days and then finish it. This helps to analyze my work and make changes to practice what I preach.
I am a graduate of the Ontario College of Art and the University of Toronto, Fine Arts and a prominent exhibitor in several art associations.
