Morris Young – Woodturning
We were all devastated to lose our good friend Morris (aka Fudgee) last spring. Morris was our treasurer, sounding board and friend of the gallery. We will continue to have his work in the gallery this summer, so you can see this talented man’s work and continue to purchase it.
Morris (who used the artistic name Fudgee) worked in many different art forms, eventually developing a love for working with wood.
Morris preferred working with native and locally found wood, creating a wide variety of functional and decorative objects. Morris turned each piece to accentuate the grain, texture and natural colour often leaving traces of bark and natural decay to enhance the beauty that nature has already created.
